23 May 2000

Physicists at Brookhaven and the State University of New York, Stony Brook, have just completed the construction of the Forward Preshower Detector (FPS), one of four inner tracking subdetectors for the D0 experiment at Fermilab’s Tevatron proton-antiproton collider. Both D0 and the Tevatron are currently undergoing major upgrades prior to the next run, which is set for March 2001.
